Our Story

HOUSE OF OCHRE began the way most good rooms do — with a wall that felt unfinished. We wanted paintings that carried the warmth of a real studio: oil on linen, honest brushwork, colours that hold the light of a room rather than fight it. When we could not find enough of them gathered in one place, we decided to curate that place ourselves.

Chosen, not mass-produced

Every painting in the collection is selected by hand. We look past trends for work with quiet presence — pieces that sit comfortably above a reading chair, anchor a dining room, or soften the geometry of a modern space. If a painting would not hang in our own homes, it does not enter the collection.

Painted for you, framed for the room

Our made-to-order collection offers a growing range of sizes and proportions, with the available dimensions listed on each product page. Choose rolled canvas for local mounting, stretched canvas without an outer frame, or a float frame in Oak, Black, Walnut, White, Gold or Silver. Availability depends on the work and its size; rolled canvas is not ready to hang.

Our promise

We keep the choices clear: product-specific dimensions, distinct delivery options and room previews to help you imagine the work at home. Where a product uses AI-assisted design imagery, its description says so; these previews are not photographs of a finished painting. Hand-painted brushwork and colour can vary, and room scenes are not to scale. If you need advice on materials, mounting or oversized delivery, please contact us before ordering.
