Our Approach

Art is the slowest thing in a room — and the most permanent. Our approach starts from that fact. Furniture can be rearranged and lamps can be replaced, but a painting sets the emotional register of a space for years. So we choose slowly, and we choose for rooms, not for catalogues.

How we select

Each candidate work is judged against three quiet questions:

  • Presence — does it hold a wall without shouting? We look for brushwork and composition that reward a second and third look.
  • Liveability — could you eat breakfast beside it every morning? We favour palettes that gather a room rather than dominate it: ochre, bone, clay, smoke and sea-glass.
  • Proportion — will it work at real scale? Every piece is considered in all five of our sizes, from an intimate 30 × 40 cm study to a 150 cm statement canvas.

Rooms, not showrooms

We photograph and preview every work as it will actually live: framed, against a wall, beside a sofa. The framed preview you see on each product page is the work as it leaves the studio — not a rendering, and not a cropped detail hiding the edges.

Fewer, better

The collection is deliberately small. We would rather offer forty paintings that each earn their place than four thousand that require a filter. When a work stops exciting us, it retires; when a room inspires a new subject or palette, we commission for it.

That is the approach: quiet criteria, real rooms, and art that feels chosen — because it was.
